Hundreds of activists continue to push for lawmakers to raise New York’s minimum wage and support fair elections.
Advocates from Citizen Action of New York and Occupy Albany, among others, released a report Monday saying $400,000 in campaign contributions have been made to NYS Senators since 2010 by lobbyists advocating against a wage hike.
They say those contributions have helped stall legislation to raise the minimum wage.
Now the group is looking to eliminate what they call “pay to play” politics.
Governor Cuomo says the push to raise the minimum wage in New York will not be decided on before the end of the legislative session on June 21.
