Release: Assembly Passes 2013 Fair Elections Act
View UpdateDon’t just worry about the impact of huge campaign contributions on elections in New York. Fight back.
Get InvolvedNational campaign finance watchdog Public Campaign Action Fund (PCAF) launched the first wave of our campaign today to press New York lawmakers to support Fair Elections with a set of mail pieces that will reach 40,000 Republican, Democratic, and Independent voters in four state senate districts.
PCAF’s executive director, David Donnelly, said in a statement, “New Yorkers are ready for a system that works for them, not just big donors and wealthy CEO campaign contributors. These four Senators will begin hearing that loud and clear.”
Sens. Greg Ball (R), Roy McDonald (R), Mark Grisanti (R), and Martin Golden (R) were chosen as the first targets of our campaign because they have shown independence from their caucus and represent diverse constituents in different geographic areas of the state.
The four mail pieces are embedded below.
Over the past decade, PCAF has assisted state advocates around the country in efforts to pass public financing systems, providing policy guidance, field support, and assistance in engaging national organizations to mobilize their grassroots base.
